DCCC Announces Ty Matsdorf Will Lead 2016 Independent Expenditure Program

The DCCC today announced that Ty Matsdorf will lead the 2016 Independent Expenditure program. Matsdorf currently serves as the DCCC’s Deputy Executive Director and Director of Strategic Messaging. Historically, the DCCC IE has been the largest program dedicated to electing Democrats to the House of Representatives.

“The DCCC is in a great position heading into 2016, and having a strong Independent Expenditure will be critical to House Democrats’ success,” said Kelly Ward, Executive Director of the DCCC. “Ty is one of the best political operatives and communicators in Washington, and we’re thrilled he will head this program.”

In his current role, Matsdorf is responsible for leading the Communications, Research and Policy Departments at the DCCC. Matsdorf is on leave from his position as Senior Vice President at The Messina Group. He has previously served on five Senatorial campaigns and President Obama’s 2012 reelection, including roles as the Communications Director for OFA-NV and Communications Director for Senators Baucus and Blumenthal.

Matsdorf also has extensive independent expenditure experience as War Room Director and Senior Advisor to the Democratic super PAC American Bridge, and Campaign Director for Senate Majority PAC.
