The Committee Raised $7M From Grassroots Donors In April
Powered by record-breaking support from grassroots donors, the DCCC raised $11.3M in April – just surpassing its April 2018 record of $11.2M. The DCCC raised $7M through grassroots fundraising for the month.
Led by record-breaking fundraising from Speaker Nancy Pelosi, the DCCC has raised $179 million for the 2020 cycle compared to $151 million total at this point in 2018.
“Our grassroots supporters have always been the motor of House Democrats’ success. But they’ve really stepped on the gas as they’ve watched Washington Republicans’ flat-footed response to this crisis.” DCCC Chairwoman Cheri Bustos. “With millions of Americans struggling right now, the fact that we surpassed our previous record is a testament to our grassroots donors digging deep, signing up for volunteer shifts, and doing everything they can to put Washington Republicans in the rearview.”
The DCCC launched its Virtual Action Center earlier this month to capitalize on record voter enthusiasm and turn online supporters into volunteers for battleground campaigns. The Virtual Action Center is the first access point for volunteers to get involved in virtual phone banks, voter registration drives and house parties while regularly-scheduled in-person campaign activity is suspended.
As of March, the DCCC has outraised the NRCC by more than $44 million and had $31M cash more on hand.
