DCCC Breaks January Fundraising Record – Raises $12.1M

As Republican leadership complains that Republican donors are giving up on retaking the House, the DCCC announced its largest January fundraising haul in committee history. The DCCC’s $12.1 million January bests its previous record by $2.8 million. This month’s record-breaking sum includes $5.8 million raised online with an average online donation of $16.

“Washington Republicans are already struggling to recruit strong candidates and House Democrats’ start to 2020 won’t make their task any easier,” DCCC Chairwoman Cheri Bustos said. “These record fundraising numbers are another reminder of House Democrats’ commanding position as we work to protect and expand the only firewall against Washington Republican attacks on working families’ health care. Democrats know what is at stake in this election and we will not let up while everyday Americans’ lives hang in the balance.”

The DCCC’s record-breaking January fundraising haul follows the committee’s best fundraising year ever. The $DCCC raised $125 million in 2019 – outraising the NRCC every month of the year and by a year-end total of $40 million.

Under Speaker Pelosi’s leadership, House Democrats outraised their Republican counterparts at every level in 2019.

  • Speaker Pelosi raised $75 million for the DCCC in 2019. She outraised Republican Leader McCarthy by $32 million.
  • Democratic Frontline Members raised more than $93 million in 2019 and 36 ended the year with more than $1 million cash on hand.
  • At least 12 Democratic challengers outraised GOP incumbents or open seat challengers in Q4.

Despite being massively outraised by Speaker Pelosi and the DCCC, House Republican leadership has publicly scolded their members for not raising enough money.
