DelBene highlights how House Republicans are pushing to raise costs on American families
As the economy reels from the constant threat of dangerous Republican tariffs, DCCC Chair Suzan DelBene laid out the harmful real life consequences of Donald Trump and House Republicans’ proposed tariffs: rising costs.

[Tariffs] will be devastating for American families. It absolutely will raise prices at the grocery store, at the gas pump, at the pharmacy counter.

We know when tariffs like these go into place that they raise prices on American families. Americans are the ones who are paying this. This is a tax on American families.

This was never a priority for Republicans to lower costs for American families. Their focus right now is on raising costs for families. It’s important that we continue to remind people of that, and also highlights how important it is that we take back the majority in the House of Representatives.

We’re going to continue to hold Republicans accountable for the pain that they’re putting American families through… This is going to be an important election because it… gives us the opportunity to not only prevent the damaging policies that the Trump administration is putting into place, but also making sure we are continuing to build a pathway towards a strong future – standing up for a strong economy, lowering costs, but also standing up for our rights and freedoms.

The number one issue we heard from families across the country this last election was wanting to see costs lowered. The Trump administration and Republicans are doing anything but that, and we’re going to make sure folks are aware as we head into 2026.
