Nearly $7M raised online in August; average online gift $20
Over 429K first time online donors this cycle
DCCC Chairman Ben Ray Luján today announced record-breaking August fundraising. In August, the DCCC raised over $15.4M compared to $10.99M in August of 2016. The committee raised nearly $7M online in August with an average gift of $20.
Through August, the DCCC has raised over $206M total with over $77.8M coming from online donations. Over 429K first-time donors contributed to this online total raised through August. Reflecting the energy behind House Democrats, the DCCC has raised over 5.2M individual gifts $200 and under through August.
Despite full Republican control of Washington, the DCCC has out-raised the NRCC nearly every month and by tens of millions cycle-to-date.
“With the primary season over, there is no question that Democrats’ historic fundraising and grassroots support puts us in a strong position to take back the House,” said DCCC Chairman Ben Ray Luján. “Given the unprecedented amount of outside Republican dark money, we will take nothing for granted and will continue to work to make sure our incredible Democratic candidates will have the resources to share their unique stories and records of service with the voters.”
