Addition to Battle-Tested Red to Blue Program Highlights Cisneros’ Strong Campaign
DCCC Chairman Ben Ray Luján today announced that Gil Cisneros has earned a spot on the DCCC’s highly competitive Red to Blue program. Cisneros is in a select group of Democratic candidates in the country to receive this designation thus far.
Cisneros has worked hard in his community to earn a spot on Red to Blue by surpassing aggressive goals for grassroots engagement, local support, campaign organization and fundraising. Beyond his demonstrated ability to build a winning campaign infrastructure, Cisneros has a strong record of service and message that connect with voters in California’s 39th Congressional District and deep ties to the community he aims to serve.
Gil has been endorsed by an impressive array of local elected leaders, including the California Federation of Labor, VoteVets, Giffords Campaign to End Gun Violence, End Citizens United, Latino Victory Fund, BOLD PAC, Dolores Huerta, and 13 former and current members of Congress.
DCCC Chairman Ben Ray Luján released the following statement:
“A distinguished Navy veteran and education policy expert, Gil Cisneros has dedicated his life to ensuring that every child has access to a quality education. Thanks to Gil’s deep commitment to his community and his service to our country, people in California’s 39th District are coalescing behind him and his formidable campaign. Thanks to the energy on Gil’s side, we will flip this district in November.”
Red to Blue is a highly competitive and battle-tested program at the DCCC that arms top-tier candidates with organizational and fundraising support to help them continue to run strong campaigns. Additionally, the DCCC provides strategic guidance, staff resources, candidate trainings, and more. It is not an endorsement.
