DCCC CHAIR LUJÁN RECOGNIZES LUCY McBATH AS PART OF ‘RED TO BLUE’ PROGRAM

Addition to Battle-Tested Program Boosts McBath’s Strong Campaign

DCCC Chairman Ben Ray Luján today announced that mother, businesswoman, and gun safety advocate Lucy McBath has earned a spot on the DCCC’s highly competitive Red to Blue program.

Lucy McBath has worked hard in her suburban Atlanta district to earn a spot on Red to Blue by surpassing aggressive goals for grassroots engagement, local support and campaign organization. Beyond her demonstrated abilities to build a winning campaign, McBath has a powerful story that is already resonating with voters in her district.

“Lucy McBath’s mission to make positive change following the tragic shooting of her son Jordan Davis is an inspiration to all of us who want to see action to make our communities safer,” said DCCC Chairman Ben Ray Luján. “During this campaign Lucy has shown herself to be not just a powerful advocate for gun safety, but also for the kind of affordable, quality health care that helped her beat breast cancer twice. That compelling story is what drove her to victory in the primary, and with a strong grassroots campaign at her back, there is no question Lucy has what it takes to flip this district in November.”

Red to Blue is a highly competitive and battle-tested program at the DCCC that arms top-tier candidates with organizational and fundraising support to help them continue to run strong campaigns. Additionally, the DCCC provides strategic guidance, staff resources, candidate trainings, and more. It is not an endorsement.
