DCCC Chair Maloney Announces Additions to DCCC’s Growing Team

Today, DCCC Chair Sean Patrick Maloney announced five additions to the DCCC’s team.

Joining the team are:

  • Pavitra Abraham, National Organizing Director
  • Erica Joy Baker, Chief Technology Officer
  • Jon Bosscher, Research Director
  • Chris Hayden, Communications Director
  • Chris Taylor, National Press Secretary

Erica Joy Baker will be the first-ever Chief Technology Officer at the DCCC, and Chris Hayden will serve as the first-ever disabled communications director at the committee. Together, these hires bring a wealth of experience to the DCCC.

“These new additions to the DCCC are seasoned operatives who know what it takes to win,” said Chair Sean Patrick Maloney. “I am thrilled to welcome these talented operatives on board, and I look forward to our continued work as we assemble the team that will protect Democrats’ House majority in 2022.”

Pavitra Abraham, National Organizing Director:

“I’m thrilled to return to the DCCC for the 2022 midterm election to protect our House Majority. We have a unique opportunity this year to apply lessons learned from organizing in 2020 to run smarter, safer, more strategic campaigns. I am excited for the work we are going to do to hire, train, and empower a large, diverse team across the country to earn every vote.”

Erica Joy Baker, Chief Technology Officer:

“I am honored and excited to join the DCCC and invest in extensible, reliable, and secure tools and processes that raise the technical baseline across the board. It is my goal to help my peers and house members do their best work in order to maintain a strong Democratic majority in 2022, and I can’t wait to get started.”

Jon Bosscher, Research Director:

“Democrats have never been in a stronger position to make their case to voters. That’s because of both the hard work the members of our House majority have done to address the concurrent public health and economic crises, as well as the commitment and determination of the professionals who have staffed the DCCC. I could not be more thrilled to join their ranks for the upcoming election cycle and I look forward to building a team that will hold Republican candidates accountable every day.”

Chris Hayden, Communications Director:

“As our country recovers from the COVID crisis, it is critical that we protect the Democratic House majority that has led the charge to provide direct relief to Americans during this pandemic. I am proud to join the diverse and battle tested team Chairman Maloney is building as we work to elect candidates committed to serving the needs of their communities.”

Chris Taylor, National Press Secretary:

“House Democrats are leading the charge to boost communities most impacted by the health and economic impact of COVID-19, defending our unfettered access to the ballot, and fighting for a justice system that values the lives of every American. I’m honored to continue at DCCC fighting alongside a team that looks like America to protect our House Majority.”

Pavitra Abraham, National Organizing Director:

Pavitra Abraham mostly recently served as the Director of Constituency Organizing and Midwest Regional Field Director for the DCCC’s 2020 cycle. Prior to that she worked as New Hampshire Organizing Director for then-Sen. Kamala Harris’ presidential campaign. A proud Michigan native, Pavitra comes back to the committee with 8+ years of organizing and training experience working on campaigns and at non-profits.

Erica Joy Baker, Chief Technology Officer:

Erica Joy Baker is a seasoned Engineering Leader who has worked in the tech industry at companies including Google, Slack, and Microsoft, and was most recently a Director of Engineering at GitHub. In addition, Erica has been on several advisory boards and councils such as the Code.org Diversity Council and the Barbie Global Advisory Board. As the child of Air Force parents, Erica has had the opportunity to live all over the United States, from Florida to Alaska, and is currently based in Oakland, California.

Jon Bosscher, Research Director:

Jon Bosscher comes to the DCCC with over a decade of experience in Democratic politics including past roles with House, Senate and Presidential campaigns. Most recently, Jon served as Research Director for House Majority PAC where he oversaw research and contributed to messaging strategy for the largest Democratic House independent expenditure campaign to date. An Ohio native, Jon got his start in politics as a field organizer for Barack Obama’s 2008 presidential campaign.

Chris Hayden, Communications Director:

Chris Hayden most recently served as a senior spokesperson in the DNC War Room focusing on the successful election of President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris. Before joining the DNC, he served as the Deputy Communications Director for Sen. Elizabeth Warren’s presidential campaign where he was a national spokesperson and oversaw the campaign’s media relations. He has also served as the Communications Director of Senate Majority PAC during the 2018 election cycle as well as a communications aide on the Senate campaigns of former Missouri Secretary of State Jason Kander and former Senators Kay Hagan and Claire McCaskill.

Chris Taylor, National Press Secretary:

Chris Taylor most recently served DCCC as Black Media Advisor + Deputy National Press Secretary overseeing a seven-figure paid media effort to engage Black voters and lift-up Democrats’ eight-figure fight to protect access to the ballot. With a stint as a press advancer for then Sen. Kamala Harris’ presidential primary campaign and work at issue advocacy firms around progressive causes, Taylor is prepared to support Democrats’ message building across a diverse constituency.
