Today, Nikki Budzinski won the Democratic primary in Illinois’ 13th Congressional District and will advance to the general election as the party’s nominee. DCCC Chair Sean Patrick Maloney released the following statement congratulating her:
“I’d like to extend warm congratulations to Nikki Budzinski for her primary victory. From her work in organized labor to fighting for a $15 minimum wage in Illinois, Nikki has spent her career uplifting workers and fighting for the middle class.
“I have no doubt that she’ll bring that same steadfast commitment to Congress to lower costs, strengthen unions, and increase economic prosperity when she represents Illinois’ 13th Congressional District. The DCCC looks forward to working closely with her team as she flips this seat blue.”
