DCCC Chair Statement Celebrating AANHPI Heritage Month

DCCC Chair Suzan DelBene released the following statement celebrating the beginning of Asian American, Native Hawaiian, and Pacific Islander Heritage Month:

“This May we celebrate the diversity, legacy, and contributions of Asian American, Native Hawaiian, and Pacific Islander (AANHPI) communities across the country. Throughout our nation’s history, AANHPI communities have blazed new trails in the arts, business, education, health care, government, sciences, technology, and more. We honor their efforts, impact, and leadership in creating a more just and equitable society for all. This year’s theme is “A legacy of Leadership and Resilience” and we are proud to share in it across these communities.

“House Democrats remain committed this month, and every month, to championing AANHPI communities and fighting for their interests and rights. When Democrats had the majority, we passed historic legislation that protected AANHPI communities and lowered prescription drug costs for hundreds of thousands of AANHPI Medicare patients. We look forward to building on this record of results and continuing to create a stronger, more prosperous future for diverse AANHPI communities across the nation.”
