| DCCC Chair Suzan DelBene released the following statement regarding the Supreme Court’s decision on birthright citizenship:
“Today, the Supreme Court affirmed a foundational promise of our Constitution. Birthright citizenship is a constitutionally protected promise that the American identity belongs not to one race or one people, but to all who believe in the American dream.
“The ruling is another reminder of why it is so important that the people’s House actually serves the people. It’s time we stop fighting over who is an American and start fighting on behalf of them. That is House Democrats’ focus, making life better for every American, and we’ll carry that agenda through to victory in November.”
