| DCCC Chair Suzan DelBene released the following statement on the anniversary of the Supreme Court decision in Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health Organization:
“The Supreme Court’s decision in Dobbs ushered in a dark era for women’s health care, giving Republican politicians — not women and their doctors — control over the most personal health care decisions families face.
“Across our country, Republicans continue to push draconian laws that block lifesaving care, stop doctors from prescribing legal medications, and outlaw rape and incest victims from terminating pregnancies in the most heartwrenching circumstances in their never-ending quest to ban abortion. These policies are unconscionable, and they’re incredibly dangerous.
“The consequences are not hypothetical — women are dying. Without a change in congress, Republicans will continue to undermine the ability of women to get the care they need.
“House Democrats will always protect women and families’ ability to make their own health care decisions, and to undo Republicans’ radical agenda to ban abortion nationwide. When we take back the majority, we’ll pass legislation to codify Roe and ensure that every woman has access to reproductive care wherever they live. Abortion rights are on the ballot this November.” |
