| DCCC Chair Suzan DelBene released the following statement on a federal three-judge panel rejecting Republicans’ gerrymandered congressional map in Utah:
“Today’s ruling is a victory for every Utahn who believes voters – not politicians – should determine the outcome of elections. By dismissing Republicans’ blatant attempt to silence Utah voters, the court has reaffirmed that power belongs to the people.
“Utahns made clear more than seven years ago when they passed Prop 4 that they want a fair map that reflects their communities. I applaud the court for respecting the will of voters, and I extend my deepest gratitude to those who’ve long fought for a fair map that keeps communities together.
“Let’s be clear: Republicans are trying to rig congressional maps across the country because they can’t defend their toxic, cost-spiking agenda. Today’s ruling reaffirms that Republicans’ bad-faith efforts will fail, both in the courts and with voters.” |
