The DCCC released the following statement after GOP Leadership – including Speaker Kevin McCarthy, Majority Leader Steve Scalise, and Conference Chair Elise Stafanik – signaled that serial liar and indicted criminal George Santos will be allowed to continue serving in the U.S. House of Representatives:
“George Santos has brought immeasurable shame to Long Island and New Yorkers want him expelled immediately,” said DCCC Chair Suzan DelBene. “Vulnerable House Republicans can no longer hide behind empty calls for Santos to resign as Santos has continually made clear he has no plans of leaving Congress voluntarily. It’s past time for House Republicans to clean up their mess, listen to voters, and remove Santos from Congress.”
REMINDER: George Santos’ New York Republican colleagues have failed to sign on to a resolution that would expel their campaign donor from Congress. Santos has said he will not leave voluntarily and announced his re-election campaign last month.
