| Today, DCCC Chair Suzan DelBene released the following statement after Governor Abigail Spanberger signed a law containing a new Congressional map that would be used in the 2026 election if Virginia voters successfully amend their constitution in April:
“I applaud Governor Spanberger and the Virginia General Assembly for moving swiftly to approve a new congressional map that will ensure Virginia voters have fair and equal representation in Congress if they amend their constitution in April. From Texas to Missouri to North Carolina, Donald Trump and extreme Republicans are engaging in an unprecedented mid-decade gerrymandering scheme to try and rig the midterms. Virginia voters will now have the chance to stand up against these attacks on our democracy by approving a temporary, emergency exemption to level the playing field with this map.” |
