DCCC Chair Statement on Native American Heritage Day

DCCC Chair Suzan DelBene released the following statement on Native American Heritage Day:

“Today we recognize the profound contributions Indigenous communities make to the fabric of our nation and their history in shaping our early culture. The day is also an enduring reminder of the immeasurable injustices they have faced. We have a responsibility to advocate for their rights and uplift their cultural heritage and history.

“House Democrats remain committed to supporting and partnering with tribal nations to deliver for all Native peoples. As a country we have not always risen to this call, yet in a time when democracy is threatened and hate runs rampant, we cannot forget that uplifting and investing in all communities on the campaign trail and in the halls of government moves us one step closer towards a more inclusive, equitable, and just society.”
