| Following Gov. Bill Lee signing Tennessee’s new, gerrymandered congressional map, DCCC Chair Suzan DelBene released the following statement:
“Today’s power grab by Tennessee Republicans is the latest admission that they know they have lost the American people and, with it, the midterms. They realized that Tennesseans were prepared to reject vulnerable Republican incumbents who failed to lower costs or make life more affordable, so they resorted to extreme gerrymandering tactics to silence voters, dilute the power of Black voters, and cheat their way into power.
“As we’ve seen in other states, the people hate the Republican power grab. I’m confident Tennessee voters will make their voices heard in November. Democrats will always fight to keep the power in their hands, and will be poised to take back the majority in November.” |
