DCCC Chair Suzan DelBene released the following statement after Louisiana finalized the new Congressional map:
“The new Congressional map for Louisiana is a much-needed victory for democracy and the Black communities that have been denied fair and equal representation for far too long. We are confident that come November, we will welcome a new Democrat from Louisiana to Congress, moving us one step closer to retaking the majority.
“I am grateful for the ongoing work of the plaintiffs, community advocates, and countless other people in Louisiana, and across the country, who are fighting for fair maps for historically disenfranchised communities of color, and for all Americans. Their work will help ensure a House of Representatives that better reflects the diversity of our nation.”
