Today, DCCC Chair Suzan DelBene issued the following statement congratulating Gabe Amo on his victory in the RI-01 special election primary:
“Congratulations to Gabe Amo on his historic victory in the primary to represent Rhode Island’s 1st Congressional District. After years in the White House under two presidents and in the Rhode Island governor’s office, Gabe has proven himself a capable and dedicated leader. Gabe will be a strong addition to the Democratic Caucus, working with us to defend reproductive freedom, bolster our economy, and fight on behalf of working families.
“With Gabe on the ticket, Republican extremists don’t stand a chance at flipping this seat in November, and I look forward to working alongside him on behalf of Rhode Islanders and the American people.”
Gabe Amo will be the first Black man to represent Rhode Island in Congress.
