DCCC Chair Suzan DelBene: “Folks are Rejecting Republicans and the Trump Agenda.”

DCCC Chair Suzan DelBene appeared on MeidasTouch this week to give an update on the race for the House Majority – highlighting the growing support and momentum throughout the country powering Democrats’ path to victory in 2026.

With a flurry of recent public polls that show House Democrats leading on the generic congressional ballot and growing opposition to Republicans’ and Trump’s handling of the economy, DelBene laid out why voters are looking for leaders focused on lowering costs. DelBene and host Ben Meiselas also discussed how the American public is souring on the failed Republican agenda of broken promises, causing everything to be more expensive.

DelBene and Meiselas also discuss how Trump’s plan to rig the midterms is backfiring on them and the ways Democrats across the country are fighting back to stand up for free and fair elections.

MeidasTouch: Trump faces WORST NIGHTMARE as Midterm Plan BLOWS UP in HIS FACE

“Folks are rejecting Republicans and the Trump agenda. It has been damaging. It has raised costs for families across the country – food, housing, health care, child care, energy costs – all going up. Trump and Republicans promised to lower costs on day one. It’s a big broken promise, and they don’t even care. They’re not even talking about it. Here we are – finally, the House is open again – and we’re not doing any legislation to help lower costs for families. It’s not a priority for them.

[…]

“[Republicans are] still pushing hard on Missouri, Indiana, North Carolina, looking at Florida – just going on and on to try to rig the system, because they can’t win when they don’t have the American people on their side. They’re not standing up for the issues that matter. They don’t seem interested in doing the work and prioritizing the challenges that are facing the American people. They are just blindly loyal to Donald Trump, and their focus right now is on rigging the system. That’s the only way they can stay in power. So we’re going to continue to use every tool we have to fight back.

[…]

“You know, the main thing that we do is recruit great candidates. And remember: we’re running in very different districts all across the country – from Kentucky and Tennessee to Michigan and Pennsylvania, Arizona, Iowa, Nebraska. [We] recruit candidates who are authentic, independent-minded members of their community, who want to go to Washington, DC to fight for their communities. These are the purple districts across the country. When we have great candidates focused on the issues that matter, we win. And that’s been true over and over again.

[…]

“But obviously, the biggest way we can make sure we make a difference, and people’s voices are heard, is by making sure that folks vote, that people turn out, participate, and help make sure that the great candidates we have running across the country – some great candidates we have right now, folks like Bobby Pulido in Texas, or Jo Mendoza and Jonathan Nez in Arizona, or Janelle Stelson in Pennsylvania, or Christina Bohannan in Iowa – I can go on and on. [We need to] make sure that these are representatives next November who are going to be sworn in to stand up for their communities, that we take back the gavels, that we have Speaker Hakeem Jeffries. That actually gives us a strong voice for the people. We have a House that works for the people. It’s also a check on this president, and a chance for us to actually move forward with policies that make a difference to lower costs.”
