DCCC Chair Suzan DelBene on Democrats Competing in Deep-Red Districts

“We’re going to hear a resounding voice from the American people on Tuesday” and “we’re going to win”

After announcing a major $15-plus million investment across 49 competitive districts with less than a week until the election — including deep-red offensive targets like FL-07, NV-02, VA-05, and TN-05 — DCCC Chair Suzan DelBene joined CNN to emphasize that Democrats are expanding the battlefield and sending House Republicans into a panic.

See highlights from Chair DelBene’s CNN conversation below:

“ […] Our number one focus is standing up for working families, for communities across the country that are suffering because of policies put in place by this administration. Obviously, number one is the cost of living, affordability, housing, food, healthcare. They gutted healthcare, energy costs, gas prices skyrocketing, all directly because of actions taken by this administration. Making sure that we are standing up to lower costs to get rid of, you know these sweeping chaotic tariffs, putting back funding for Medicaid, making sure that people have health care across the country, standing up to the corruption we see from this administration, ending the war.

[…]

“Well, I think we’re going to hear a resounding voice from the American people on Tuesday. Folks want a Congress that’s going to stand up for them, and we are. In the House, we will stand up, move legislation, do our job as an independent branch with oversight, make sure we’re moving policy to support our communities.

[…]

“I was at an early voting center in Toledo. Many people excited, energized to turn out to vote. I was there with Marcy Kaptur. You know, Republicans have tried to gerrymander here, and it’s backfiring. People want great representatives who are going to stand up for them. They have that in Marcy Kaptur. We have we have Greg Landsman and Emilia Sykes, who are also on strong path to be reelected. And we have opportunities to pick up seats.

[…]

“I’m here in Parma, Ohio. Brian Poindexter is a great candidate. We have a chance to flip a seat right here. People are tired of the broken promises from Republicans. You know, they promised to lower costs on day one. They promised to only go after the worst of the worst on immigration. They promised no forever wars. Broken promise after broken promise.

[…]

“Our secret sauce is that we have great candidates. All of those together are a reason we’re going to win, and absolutely one place we’re going to win was right here in Ohio.

[…]

“You know our map has continued to expand across the country. We’ve had strong support across the country. People wanting to make sure we have resources to get to candidates in every corner of the country. And so we have great opportunities now that we’ve been able to reach, like in Nevada 2, Northern Nevada. A great opportunity to flip a seat there with Teresa Benitez-Thompson. We were able to put money into places like Tennessee 5 and Chaz Molder, another place where they tried to redistrict and make that a safer seat. You can’t outdo great candidates, Florida 7 and Bale Dalton.

“Again, these are all seats that Trump won, but all seats where we have great opportunities to pick up, because people are angry and they want candidates who are going to stand up for them, and we really do have incredible candidates that are deeply connected to their communities, they’re authentic, they’re independent-minded, and they’re actually listening to voters. That’s why we’re going to win.”
