MSNOW: ‘Red to blue’: Democrats target additional House seats after primary wins
“We continue to have great candidates running all across the country, and our focus is on these districts that we can flip — these swing districts. And great candidates coming through there.
“We just added more to our Red to Blue list, which is our list of folks who are going to flip seats across the country. Folks like Marni von Wilpert, who just won in southern California in CA-48. A former prosecutor, a City Council Member from San Diego, a great candidate who’s going to flip a seat there.
“And Rebecca Bennett in New Jersey, who also just won a primary in New Jersey: a naval aviator, in an incredible position to flip a seat against a non-existent republican, Tom Kean Jr., who hasn’t shown up to vote. No one knows where he is.
“Bale Dalton in Florida, another naval aviator, great candidate running against Cory Mills, an extreme republican who’s very ethically challenged.
“And Denise Powell, who won a primary in Nebraska, NE-02: a business leader, a public school and health care advocate. A district that is an open seat right now running against another rubber stamp for Donald Trump.
“Those are our four latest additions, incredible candidates that give us 24 across the country. We need to net three to take back the majority.

“Also, Iowa just held their primaries. We have three incredibly strong women running in Iowa. Three seats we could flip right there. So again, people are struggling across the country. If you use Iowa as an example, you know, farmers have been hit hard with tariffs, with the war, prices going up, and there is no interest from Republicans at all to stand up for communities, to stand up against the damage that’s being done by this administration.
“And so we have these incredible candidates like Christina Bohannan and Sarah Trone Garriott and Lindsay James, who can flip seats in Iowa.”

“Number one issue across the country, and absolutely the number one issue in these battleground districts is the economy and costs skyrocketing for families, housing, food, health care, childcare, energy costs, gas prices all going up directly because of actions taken by Trump and by Republicans in Congress.
[…]
“People want to know what we’re going to do, not only to put a check, to your point, on the administration and stop the damage they have done to working families across the country, but what we can do to actually make life better.
“Making sure that people have affordable, quality health care; here in their ‘Big, Ugly Bill,’ they slashed Medicaid, have made premiums skyrocket for people across the country. Focusing on what we can do to help lower costs, tariffs that have raised costs.

“We should be standing up and making sure the President isn’t putting in place these sweeping tariffs. Congress can have a say, you saw that in a War Powers resolution last night. These are all places where candidates are talking about what we can do in Congress, not just to be a check, but actually to be a voice for the American people.”
