DCCC Chair Suzan DelBene: Republicans “Think Their Only Job Is To Work For Donald Trump and Not Work For The People That They Represent”

DCCC Chair Suzan DelBene joined Meet the Press NOW and Bloomberg TV blasting House Republicans for abandoning the American people to instead bend the knee to President Trump Musk – even as House Republicans ruin the economy, gut Americans’ health care, and break their promise to lower costs. DelBene highlighted how the quality of Democratic candidates helped House Democrats overperform last year, and will power the way for House Democrats to re-take the majority in 2026.

Meet the Press NOW: DelBene: ‘One way that we put a check on this President is to make sure we take back the majority in the House.’

“We are in a very dangerous place because we have Congress, a co-equal branch of government…not standing up to President Trump, not doing the job of oversight.”

“They [Republicans] seem to think their only job is to work for Donald Trump and not work for the people that they represent.”

“People are scared. They’re losing their jobs. They’re seeing prices go up at the grocery store, at the gas pump, at the pharmacy counter, because of the actions this administration has taken.”

“It’s important that we hold Republicans accountable for these actions, and we are doing that. We’re also recruiting great candidates to run, because one way that we put a check on this President is to make sure that we have the majority in the House of Representatives.”

Bloomberg Balance of Power: DelBene: “We’re going to see a Democratic majority in the House in 2026.”

“Voters are angry because they are being impacted by the actions of this administration, by Elon Musk, and DOGE, and by Republicans in Congress. They see their costs going up. Many have lost jobs. They see important services that they depend on being cut or gutted. They’re worried about health care and Social Security.”

“That’s what people are angry about, and they want us to do everything possible to stop that.”

“That’s why it’s so important we take back the majority in the House of Representatives. We know when we have great candidates across the country who are talking about the issues that matter, we win. We picked up seats last cycle, and folks are engaged, they’re involved, they’re concerned. And that’s going to mean that people are going to be out there voting for great people, and we’re going to see a Democratic majority in the House in 2026.”
