DCCC Chair Suzan DelBene Says Latest Race Rater Shifts Toward Democrats are because People Are “Tired of the Broken Promises, Costs Skyrocketing, People Losing Health Care.”

On CNN News Central, DelBene notes that election forecasters have made 291 shifts towards Democrats since Labor Day as sign of momentum in the fight for the House Majority

DCCC Chair Suzan DelBene was on CNN News Central on Friday to discuss the momentum House Democrats have going into the final weekend before election day – when news broke that Cook Political Report moved a dozen more races toward Democrats – putting the number of total races shifts in Democrats’ favor since Labor Day to 291.

DelBene went on to make the case that driving this momentum was the quality candidates who are running across the country and are providing a clear contrast to their rubberstamp Republican opponents who have failed the American people by leaving a trail of broken promises and higher costs as their only record.

CNN: Midterms Latest: Forecaster move 12 more House races toward Dems

Highlights from Chair DelBene’s interview below:

“Since Labor Day, we’ve seen 291 race rating changes towards Democrats all across the country because people on the ground are tired, they’re hurting, they’re tired of the broken promises, costs skyrocketing, people losing health care. Republicans promised no forever wars. We have a forever war going on right now with no strategy, no plan. People don’t want representatives who are rubber stamps for an administration, they want folks who are going to stand up for them. And we have great candidates running [..] literally all across the country, and opportunities in – we’re on offense [in] 66 districts across the country. They all keep moving our direction […].

[…]

“We have a strong opportunity to take back the majority and have a strong governing majority. So we’re going to fight for every seat, but I take nothing for granted.

[…]

“Some of these races are in districts that Republicans gerrymandered to try to make opportunities for them […]. You talked about North Carolina and Richard Hudson’s seat. They’ve been redoing the maps in North Carolina every cycle [it] seems like to try to create more and more opportunities, and it’s backfiring. Not only do we have opportunities in his district, but North Carolina 11, Jamie Ager running an incredible campaign. We’re going to pick up seats in North Carolina and Florida, Texas, other places that they gerrymandered.
