DCCC Chair Suzan DelBene released the following statement recognizing Black History Month:
“As Black History Month begins, the DCCC is celebrating the countless Black Americans throughout our country’s history whose patriotism, innovation, and courage have strengthened our nation. Their immeasurable contributions and sacrifices, from Frederick Douglass to Shirley Chisholm to Barack Obama, have moved America forward and expanded opportunities for each and every American.
“In honoring Black History Month, we should also recommit ourselves to the critical work of confronting the challenges that our political opponents continue to throw at Black Americans.
“While House Republicans frantically deploy dangerous efforts to attack the economic freedom, opportunities, and prosperity of Black Americans, it’s more important than ever for House Democrats and the DCCC to remain steadfast in our commitment to combatting these efforts and electing a Democratic House Majority that will fight for a truly equal and just society.”
