The DCCC released the following statement from DCCC Chair Suzan DelBene:
“Yesterday, a Texas judge attempted to restrict a trusted, life-saving abortion medication. Make no mistake, this is the result of Republicans’ decades-long crusade to rip away women’s freedoms.
“And yet, knowing just how unpopular their war against reproductive freedom is, extreme MAGA Republicans cowered in silence instead of speaking up against this wrongful decision – a clear contrast to House Democrats who will not yield to this dangerous extremism.
“While the Biden Administration fights this decision in court and mifepristone currently remains accessible, this decision reminds us that we cannot take anything for granted. In 2024, we must organize and mobilize to stop Republicans’ attempts to ban abortion nationwide. Our freedoms and our children’s freedoms depend on it.”
