The DCCC released the following statement from DCCC Chair Suzan DelBene in recognition of International Women’s Day:
“International Women’s Day is a celebration of the historic progress generations of women around the world made possible through their relentless perseverance and courageous demands for equality and inclusion.
“As we rightfully celebrate these hard-fought victories, we must not grow complacent while our fundamental rights like workplace inclusion, pay equity, and reproductive freedom remain under constant threat by far-right politicians and authoritarians who see women as less than.
“We owe the younger generation of girls – who look to leaders in their homes, schools, communities, and government for purpose and inspiration – results and action. House Democrats remain committed to working with anyone willing to stand up for building a more inclusive and equitable country for all women and girls.”
The 2024 DCCC will primarily be led by women. Rep. Suzan DelBene is DCCC Chair, Julie Merz is the DCCC’s Executive Director, Missayr Boker is Deputy ED for Campaigns , and Tasha Cole is Deputy Executive Director for Stakeholder Engagement. The DCCC also has a majority women Senior Leadership Team.
While the DCCC continues to expand our team and encourage people to apply, 60% of current DCCC staff identify as women.
