DCCC Chairman Ben Ray Luján issued the following statement regarding Monday’s Supreme Court DACA and DAPA hearing, and the more than 1.5 million eligible voters whose family members are impacted by the programs:
“Over 1.5 million eligible voters have a family member impacted by DAPA and DACA, and Latino and immigrant families are paying attention to this Supreme Court case, and the cruel effort of House Republicans to dismantle these important programs.
“DACA and DAPA are smart and moral immigration policies that keep hardworking families together, while allowing them to continue contributing to our country, but House Republicans have done everything in their power, including an unprecedented and cruel floor vote, to undo them. While I am confident that DACA & DAPA will withstand the test of this hearing, voters will remember these Donald Trump-like attacks against their communities this November.”

El presidente del DCCC Ben Ray Luján emitió la siguiente declaración sobre la audiencia de la Corte Suprema por DACA y DAPA, y los más de 1.5 millones de ciudadanos elegibles para votar cuyo sus familias son impactadas por estos programas:
“Más de 1.5 millones de ciudadanos elegibles para votar tienen un miembro de la familia que es impactado por DAPA y DACA, y las familias inmigrantes y latinas están poniendo atención a lo que está pasando en la Corte Suprema, y en los esfuerzos por congresistas republicanos para desmantelar estos programas tan importantes.
“DACA y DAPA son políticas listas y morales que mantienen juntas a las familias trabajadoras, y a la misma vez dejándolas contribuir a nuestro país, pero los congresistas republicanos han hecho todo lo posible, incluso proponer un voto cruel y sin precedentes en la Cámara de Representantes, para eliminarlas. Mientras yo estoy confiado de que DACA y DAPA prevalecerán, los votantes recordaran estos ataques parecidos a los de Donald Trump contra sus comunidades este noviembre.”
