DCCC Chairman Luján Announces Ruben Kihuen Added to Red to Blue Program

R2B

DCCC Chairman Ben Ray Luján today announced the addition of Ruben Kihuen (NV-04) to the Red to Blue Program. This Red to Blue designation indicates that Kihuen will run a top-notch campaign through Election Day, putting him in an excellent position to join the Democratic caucus. Beyond promising campaign strengths, Kihuen has demonstrated the ability to fight on behalf of hardworking people in his district, keep them safe, and make sure that the economy is working for everyone.

Ruben Kihuen has dedicated his career to giving everyone the same opportunities he and his immigrant family were given in Nevada. Ruben will take that spirit to Congress to ensure every family gets a fair shot. Ruben knows how to get real results and I have full confidence he will run a strong campaign to unseat Congressman Cresent Hardy, who couldn’t be more wrong for the people of Nevada’s 4th Congressional District,” said Chairman Ben Ray Luján.

About Red to Blue

The DCCC’s Red to Blue program highlights top Democratic campaigns across the country, and offers them financial, communications, grassroots, and strategic support. The program will introduce Democratic supporters to new, competitive candidates in order to help expand the fundraising base for these campaigns.

Congresswoman Cheri Bustos (IL-17) and Congressman Denny Heck (WA-10) are co-chairs of the Red to Blue program. With the addition of Kihuen, 36 districts and candidates are part of the Red to Blue or Emerging Races programs. There will be additional candidates added to Red to Blue in the future.
