DCCC CHAIRMAN LUJÁN ANNOUNCES SEVENTH ROUND OF RED TO BLUE CANDIDATES

Red to Blue Candidates Swept Their Primaries Tuesday in AR & TX

DCCC Chairman Ben Ray Luján today announced the seventh round of candidates on the DCCC’s highly competitive Red to Blue program. Forty-three candidates have now earned a spot on Red to Blue by surpassing aggressive goals for grassroots engagement, local support, campaign organization and fundraising. Beyond their demonstrated abilities to build a winning campaign infrastructure, these candidates have strong records of service and deep ties to the communities they aim to represent.

“Amy McGrath’s inspiring record of service and powerful message of putting her country and constituents first has resonated in every corner of this district and beyond,” DCCC Chairman Ben Ray Luján. “Her grassroots campaign is mobilizing voters and bringing new supporters into the fold every day, and is primed to compete for every vote in this district. No one will work harder to flip this district than Amy – she is ready to win and bring an independent voice to fight for Kentucky in Congress.”

“A lifelong Houstonian, Lizzie Fletcher has been fighting for Texans ever since she locked arms to protect women’s rights in 1992,” continued Luján. “Since then, Lizzie has dedicated her career to standing up for Houstonians and encouraging the next generation of leaders to step up and move Houston forward. Lizzie won her primary decisively and showed that her commonsense approach and commitment to Texans are exactly what’s needed to flip this once reliably red district.”

Red to Blue is a highly competitive and battle-tested DCCC program that arms top-tier candidates with organizational and fundraising support to help them continue to run strong campaigns. Additionally, the DCCC provides strategic guidance, staff resources, candidate trainings, and more.
