DCCC Chairman Ben Ray Luján released the following statement after an amendment to uphold anti-discrimination protections for LGBT Americans failed in the House of Representatives:
“Yet again, House Republicans’ actions speak louder than words. When given the opportunity to stand up and protect the rights of our LGBT brothers and sisters, House Republicans fell in line with the ugly policies and positions that are so central to the Republican Party of Trump. Particularly disturbing is that time had run out and the amendment was poised to pass, but House Republicans twisted arms and ultimately sank these anti-discrimination protections.”
