DCCC Chairman Ben Ray Luján released the following statement on TJ Cox’s victory in California’s 21st Congressional District:
“Congratulations to TJ Cox and all his supporters in this historic win in the heart of the Central Valley. TJ ignored the naysayers and his campaign got down to business, working tirelessly to knock every door, call every voter, and reach everyone they could in the 21st congressional district to win this campaign. The DCCC was proud to stand with TJ as he flipped this seat by focusing on his record of delivering affordable healthcare and good-paying jobs to the Central Valley. We need more of TJ’s no-nonsense approach in Congress, and I’m pleased to call him a colleague.
“TJ Cox’s victory marks the 40th seat that Democrats have flipped from red to blue in the 2018 midterms, and it is as exciting and consequential as the first.”
