As Republicans continue their crusade against abortion rights, DCCC Chairman Rep. Sean Patrick Maloney released the following statement commemorating the 49th anniversary of Roe v. Wade:
“For nearly half a century, Roe v. Wade has safeguarded a woman’s freedom to make her own decisions about her body, unbound from extremist politicians trying to control one of the most basic decisions a woman can make in her life – the personal decision of if and when to raise a family.
“Today, we’re at a crisis point. Anti-choice Republicans at every level of government are attacking women’s freedoms with an onslaught of laws that make accessing an abortion dangerous or downright impossible. Make no mistake: if Republicans win this November, they will work to ban abortion nationwide.
“House Democrats stand with the overwhelming majority of Americans who support legal abortion, and we will always protect women’s freedoms from relentless Republican attacks.”
