DCCC CHAIRWOMAN BUSTOS ANNOUNCES FIRST ROUND OF RED TO BLUE CANDIDATES & RED TO BLUE CO-CHAIRS
DCCC Chairwoman Cheri Bustos today announced the first round of candidates the DCCC is naming to its highly competitive Red to Blue program. Additionally, Chairwoman Bustos announced Representatives Pete Aguilar, Don McEachin, and Lisa Blunt Rochester as Red to Blue Co-Chairs.
This first round of candidates has earned a spot on the DCCC’s Red to Blue program by surpassing aggressive goals for grassroots engagement, local support, campaign organization and fundraising. Beyond their demonstrated ability to build a winning campaign infrastructure, these candidates have strong records of service, authentic messages that connect with voters in their districts and deep ties to the communities they aim to serve.
“Because of the strength of Democrats running in 2020, we are on path to protect and expand the most diverse House Majority in American history,” DCCC Chairwoman Cheri Bustos said. “These Red to Blue candidates are veterans, farmers, doctors, public servants and advocates who are committed to serving their communities and ensuring they will finally have a voice in Congress.”
Bustos continued, “I am grateful that Representatives Pete Aguilar, Don McEachin and Lisa Blunt Rochester will join me as Red to Blue Co-Chairs to mentor these incredible candidates and ensure they continue to build strong campaigns that are on a path to win tough races. The strength of our candidates matters, and these 12 local leaders have shown they have what it takes to win the trust of their voters and earn their votes. For that reason, I am proud to add them to our battle-tested Red to Blue program.”
Red to Blue is a highly competitive and battle-tested DCCC program that arms top-tier candidates with organizational and fundraising support to help them continue to develop strong campaigns.
