In response to the North Carolina State Board of Elections laying out a calendar for the new election in North Carolina’s Ninth District, DCCC Chairwoman Cheri Bustos released the following statement:
“Americans must have confidence in the integrity of our elections and, by scheduling a new election, the North Carolina State Board of Elections has taken one more step toward undoing the harm North Carolina Republicans caused by perpetrating this clear fraud. As Republicans attempt to explain away the obvious fraud their candidate ran in an attempt to steal votes, we are proud to stand by Dan McCready, a United States Marine Corps veteran and business leader, who will faithfully represent his community in Congress.”
