“No American should have to wonder whether the vote they cast is counted and counted fairly”
After four days of testimony and public hearings into the election fraud perpetrated by Mark Harris’s campaign and personally funded by House GOP leadership, the North Carolina State Board of Elections voted unanimously to call for a new election in North Carolina’s 9th Congressional District.
In response to this 5-0 decision, DCCC Chairwoman Cheri Bustos released the following statement:
“No American should have to wonder whether the vote they cast is counted and counted fairly. What we have seen unfold in North Carolina is an all-out assault on our fundamental American values, and Mark Harris is correct when he said that his actions have undermined North Carolinians’ faith in our election process. I am proud to stand on the side of Democracy and of fair elections for all Americans. I look forward to joining with countless others in this special election to do the hard work of repairing the harm Mark Harris, and Republicans in North Carolina, have caused.”
