DCCC Chairwoman Cheri Bustos released the following statement on Governor John Bel Edwards’ re-election in a state President Trump carried by nearly 20-points in 2016:
“Governor John Bel Edwards earned a second term by working to make health care more affordable and accessible for the people he serves in Louisiana. This is the second straight governor’s race in a red state that Republicans lost after a last minute rally from President Trump. Seeing these results, House Republicans are likely reconsidering just how eager they are to rubber stamp President Trump’s reckless agenda in Washington.”
