Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee Chairman Cheri Bustos issued the following statement on the results of last night’s primary election in Illinois’s 3rd Congressional District:
“As a Member of the Illinois delegation, Dan has always fought for the needs of our state: from Chicagoans in his community, to downstaters like myself. I thank him for his tireless service in Congress.
“This morning I spoke with Marie Newman to congratulate her on running a strong campaign, and to welcome her to our Caucus. I know Marie will be a strong voice on behalf of working people in her community, and I look forward to working with her to deliver results for families in our state.”
