DCCC Chairwoman Cheri Bustos Statement on North Carolina Congressional Map Decision

Yesterday, the North Carolina Superior Court determined the state’s final congressional map for the 2020 general election. This redraw came after two previous state congressional maps were rejected by the courts because of partisan gerrymandering.

“The courts have spoken and stated plainly that the partisan gerrymandering used by North Carolina Republicans to hold seats is unacceptable,” said DCCC Chairwoman Cheri Bustos. “We are confident this new map will lead to a more representative state, and we are confident voters will re-elect our sitting Representatives and elect additional Democrats across North Carolina.”
