DCCC Chair Sean Patrick Maloney, DNC Chair Jaime Harrison, Pennsylvania Democratic Party Chair and State Senator Sharif Street, and DSCC Chair Gary Peters released the following statement on the Pennsylvania Supreme Court keeping in place a lower court decision allowing counties to notify and give voters the opportunity to fix errors in their mail-in ballots before Election Day:
“This ruling is a big win for Pennsylvania. Make no mistake: Republicans tried to deny Pennsylvanians the opportunity to make sure their ballots are counted – but we went to court to stop them.
“Democrats continue to stand up for every eligible voter’s right to cast their ballot and have it be counted, and Republican efforts to make it harder to vote will not stand in our way.”
Last month, the DCCC, DNC, PA Dems, and DSCC successfully blocked a Republican lawsuit seeking to prevent counties from notifying and giving voters the opportunity to fix errors in their mail-in ballots.
