In the race for the House majority, the latest reservations represent the DCCC’s multiple paths to victory and brings current general election investment to $55 million
The Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee (DCCC) announced its second round of ad reservations for the 2024 cycle. This latest set of reservations totals $27 million, effectively doubling the DCCC’s earlier $28 million reservation announcement in June and bringing the current DCCC IE investments to $55 million for the general election.
The reservations are part of a major offensive push to maximize an energized and enthusiastic electorate, with new investments in media markets spanning districts then-President Trump lost but currently held by Republicans in California ($5 million), New York ($8 million); in addition to red-leaning districts with vulnerable Republicans in Iowa and Pennsylvania. Highlighting our comprehensive campaign to reach all voters across the battlefield and building on the committee’s earlier investments to target key constituencies, today’s reservations include $1.5 million on Spanish language broadcast.
“House Democrats are on offense and this latest salvo of reservations reflects the strong position we are in to retake the majority. We’re able to make these moves across the map thanks to the record-breaking fundraising we’ve had – driven by Leader Hakeem Jeffries and fueled by the historic numbers of individual donors this cycle,” said Julie Merz, DCCC Executive Director. “This election is a clear choice between Republican extremism and their unpopular agenda to give tax breaks to the ultra-wealthy and pass a nationwide abortion ban versus House Democrats’ forward-looking agenda of lowering costs and protecting reproductive freedom for all.”
