This morning, the DCCC’s Independent Expenditure released a new round of digital ads featuring audio of Greg Gianforte’s attack on a reporter, which local law enforcement has categorized as assault. These come on the heels of digital ads the DCCC launched late last night. Both ads depict Gianforte’s shocking attack of Ben Jacobs – a reporter from the Guardian – who asked Gianforte his position on the new CBO score of Washington Republicans’ disastrous Repeal & Ripoff bill, to which Gianforte “slammed him into the ground” and “began punching the reporter.”
“Last night, Greg Gianforte disqualified himself from the honor of representing Montanans in congress. Gianforte has been charged with assault – his only option at this point is to accept responsibility and end his campaign. As he continues to lay low and hope people don’t see the news, the DCCC will do everything possible to make sure Montanans know the truth,” said Meredith Kelly of the DCCC.
