Radio and digital ads highlight Yoder’s partisan vote against hurricane victims
This week, the DCCC launched a significant ad blitz targeting Representative Kevin Yoder over his vote against disaster relief funds for victims of Hurricanes Harvey and Irma. The ad blitz includes 60-second radio ads that target commuters in the Kansas City market and digital ads on Facebook and Instagram that target persuadable voters in Yoder’s district.
Two weeks ago, Congress passed the $15.25 billion relief bill for Hurricane Harvey and Hurricane Irma—and Kevin Yoder recklessly voted against funding disaster relief for the victims. This shameful vote prompted the Kansas City Star editorial board to write, “It’s hard to overstate the anger and shame their constituents should feel about those votes. At a time of great need, our elected representatives turned their backs on our neighbors to make meaningless political points.”
“For Representative Kevin Yoder to put his reckless ideology ahead of hurricane victims is truly disturbing,” said DCCC Spokesperson Rachel Irwin. “Kansans know firsthand what natural disasters can do to homes, businesses, and schools, and they deserve better than Yoder’s vote. Once again, Rep. Yoder has put party politics ahead of his constituents and fellow Americans who were counting on their elected representatives to do the right thing.”

IT WAS ONE OF THE RARE TIMES WHEN SOMETHING ACTUALLY GOT DONE IN WASHINGTON. BUT OUR CONGRESSMAN, KEVIN YODER, VOTED NO.
THE STAR EDITORIAL BOARD WROTE THAT IT’S HARD TO OVERSTATE THE ANGER AND SHAME KANSANS SHOULD FEEL ABOUT YODER’S VOTE. PLAYING POLITICS INSTEAD OF HELPING NEIGHBORS IN NEED.
