Despite overwhelming public support for safe, legal abortion, GOP candidates Alek Skarlatos, Lori Chavez-DeRemer, and Mike Erickson want to roll back women’s reproductive freedoms:
-
Alek Skarlatos said ‘go for it’ on overturning Roe v. Wade and proudly accepted the endorsement of the extremist group Oregon Right to Life, which wants to ban abortion even in cases of rape or incest;
-
Lori Chavez-DeRemer said she’s “encouraged to see the Supreme Court overturn Roe v. Wade” and backs an extreme, near-total ban on abortion;
-
Mike Erickson has campaigned on a “strict anti-abortion platform” and wants to ban abortion.
DCCC spokesperson Johanna Warshaw:
“Alek Skarlatos, Lori Chavez-DeRemer, and Mike Erickson’s plan is clear: they want to ban abortion and roll back women’s reproductive rights. We will remind Oregon voters of their extreme record against a woman’s right to make personal health care decisions every day until November.”
