DCCC Launches Digital Ad Campaign on the Morally Bankrupt Congressional Carveout

Digital Ads to run on Facebook, Instagram, & Twitter in 30 targeted districts

In response to the House Republicans’ morally bankrupt Congressional Carveout – also known as the MacArthur Amendment – the DCCC is launching digital ads today in thirty Republican-held districts. The ads will run on Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter in order to educate voters about the new Republican healthcare repeal plan that will remove protections for people with pre-existing conditions unless, of course, you are a member of Congress.

“Removing protections for people with pre-existing conditions will go down in infamy as one of the most heartless acts of this Republican Congress. As proof of the repeal bill’s devastating impact, Republican Members of Congress are exempting themselves from the punishment they are willing to inflict on their constituents,” said DCCC Spokesman Tyler Law. “This digital ad campaign will educate voters in targeted districts about this morally bankrupt Congressional Carveout.”

While the previous version of the Republican repeal bill was both devastating to hardworking families and unpopular, this new version goes much farther in attacking hardworking families, people over 50 years old, and those with preexisting conditions. To make matters worse, it breaks the concrete promises that nearly every vulnerable member of Congress has made to their constituents with preexisting conditions (IN THEIR OWN WORDS: Vulnerable House Republicans Promised Never to Remove Protections for Preexisting Conditions).
