DCCC Launches Digital Ads Calling Out Vulnerable House Republicans for Making America’s Cookouts More Expensive

Running over Labor Day weekend, new ads blast House Republicans for soaring burger and beer prices

The Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee announced a national digital ad buy reminding hardworking Americans whose fault it is that their Labor Day cookouts this weekend are so ridiculously expensive.

Spoiler Alert: The answer is House Republicans.

The five-figure ad buy, which will run over the Labor Day weekend on YouTube and Instagram, is targeted to young men (ages 18 – 44). The buy features two distinct ads: the first, a static ad on Instagram (as shown above), the second (below), a video ad on YouTube and Instagram. The ads are slated to run in all 35 of the DCCC’s Districts in Play.

Watch the YouTube ad below:

Food prices are continuing to soar at the grocery store, with no relief in sight for working Americans. Rather than give their constituents any relief from high costs, House Republicans’ Big, Ugly Law is expected to cause foodutility, and health care costs to skyrocket so that the wealthiest few can get a massive tax break.

To help voters see exactly how much the failed Republican agenda is costing them, the ads redirect to HouseRepublicanPriceHike.com, an interactive tool powered with the latest price data available to allow voters add up and then share online how much more they are paying for the items that make an American cookout great, such as the classic cheeseburger and a cold beer.

DCCC Spokesperson Viet Shelton:
“Labor Day is supposed to be a time to celebrate the contributions of the American worker and to relax with neighbors and families over a grill enjoying burgers and beer. But House Republicans are ruining everyone’s cookouts by making the trip to the grocery store more expensive. The DCCC is going to make sure voters know House Republicans are responsible.”
