DCCC Launches Digital Ads Holding Vulnerable House Republicans Accountable for Making Everything More Expensive

The Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee announced a national digital ad buy slamming House Republicans for making life more expensive for working families in order to fund tax breaks for their billionaire backers.

The four-figure ad buy, which begins this week on Meta, addresses the number one concern among voters – the rising cost of everything from health care to utility bills. House Republicans’ Big, Ugly Law is expected to cause foodutility and health care costs all to skyrocket while the wealthiest few get a tax break. The individualized ads are slated to run in all 35 of the DCCC’s Districts in Play.

The digital ads arrive during Congress’s summer district work period, which has been defined by vulnerable Republicans largely hiding from their constituents, who, without an ability to share their displeasure directly to their member of Congress, have taken to protests, rallies, and even hosting empty chair town halls, all to send a clear message to vulnerable House Republicans: They are fed up with their broken promises.

As a reminder, independent analysts have estimated that the Big, Ugly Law will raise the cost of energy bills by $170 billion, increase the cost of health insurance premiums and co-pays for millions, and out-of-pocket costs for food would increase by an average of $146 per month for many families.

DCCC Spokesperson Viet Shelton:
“House Republicans promised to lower costs on ‘Day One,’ but instead voted to jack up costs on food, health care, and electricity bills so they could bankroll tax breaks for the wealthy and well-connected. The DCCC is making sure that every battleground voter knows that House Republicans and their One, Big, Ugly Law are the reason that life is getting more expensive for everyday Americans, and will hold them accountable in 2026.”
