The DCCC video campaign targets Garcia for alleged engagement in insider trading
Today, the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee is releasing a digital video reminding voters in California’s 27th Congressional District of Mike Garcia’s self-serving scandals in Congress. In December, Garcia became embroiled in a troubling stock scandal after credible allegations emerged that he traded on privileged information – that only his congressional committee had access to, for personal financial gain – and failed to disclose the trade until weeks after winning his election by a 333-vote margin.
Initial reporting from the Daily Beast led to multiple calls for ethics investigations into Garcia’s failure to disclose the sale of $50,000 in Boeing stocks just weeks before his committee released a damning report about the company’s role in deadly airliner crashes.

From now to Election Day, the DCCC will continue to hold Mike Garcia accountable for his breach of trust and remind voters in California’s 27th District that Garcia’s track record of self-service and egregious misconduct can come to an end.
DCCC Spokesperson Dan Gottlieb:
“Cash-it-in Congressman Mike Garcia chose to betray the trust of his constituents for inexcusable personal gain – withholding critical information about his self-serving conduct from California families – and we’re going to ensure that misconduct comes back to bite him this November. Californians deserve better than a hypocritical, far-right representative – and that’s why the DCCC will continue reminding voters in California’s 27th Congressional District that Garica is prioritizing his own interests over the people’s interests from now until Election Day.”
