DCCC Launches “GOPVotedToDefault.Com,” Highlighting Painful Impacts of Mike Lawler’s Extreme ‘Default on America Act’

The Hudson Valley will see what critical programs that Mike Lawler voted to cut

On Thursday, the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee launched www.GOPVotedToDefault.com, a new microsite highlighting the extreme and painful spending cuts Mike Lawler voted for as part of their ‘Default on America Act.’

The increasingly vulnerable Republican sided with extremists to hold our economy hostage and enact cruel cuts to programs that keep Americans safe, secure, and healthy. On top of the dangerous cuts, the ‘Default on America Act’ would trigger a job-killing recession, gut Americans’ hard-earned retirement savings, and increase unemployment.

The new microsite allows those in the Hudson Valley to explore how Lawler’s vote would negatively affect their family and community.

Over the next 17 months, the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee will continue to hold Lawler accountable to ensure the Hudson Valley knows his false promises at home do not match his actions on Capitol Hill.

DCCC spokesperson Nebeyatt Betre:
“When Mike Lawler sided with the extremes of their party and voted for the ‘Default on America Act,’ he sold out hard-working families in the Hudson Valley and pushed our economy closer to a job-killing recession. Voters in the Hudson Valley will hold him accountable for these disastrous cuts to programs veterans and seniors depend on, and the shameless mistruths Republicans have been telling their constituents.”
