DCCC Launches “GOPVotedToDefault.Com,” Highlighting Painful Impacts of Vulnerable Long Island Republicans’ Extreme ‘Default on America Act’

Long Islanders will see what critical programs that Nick LaLota, George Santos, and Anthony D’Esposito voted to cut

On Thursday, the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee launched www.GOPVotedToDefault.com, a new microsite highlighting the extreme and painful spending cuts Nick LaLota, George Santos, and Anthony D’Esposito voted for as part of their ‘Default on America Act.’

These increasingly vulnerable Republicans sided with extremists to hold our economy hostage and enact cruel cuts to programs that keep Americans safe, secure, and healthy. On top of the dangerous cuts, the ‘Default on America Act’ would trigger a job-killing recession, gut Americans’ hard-earned retirement savings, and increase unemployment.

The new microsite allows Long Islanders to explore how LaLota, Santos, and D’Esposito’s vote would negatively affect their family and community.

Over the next 17 months, the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee will continue to hold these members accountable to ensure Long Islanders know these Republicans’ false promises at home do not match their actions on Capitol Hill.

DCCC spokesperson Nebeyatt Betre:
“When Nick LaLota, George Santos, and Anthony D’Esposito sided with the extremes of their party and voted for the ‘Default on America Act,’ they sold out hard-working families on Long Island and pushed our economy closer to a job-killing recession. Long Islanders will hold them accountable for these disastrous cuts to programs veterans and seniors depend on, and the shameless mistruths Republicans have been telling their constituents.”
